Mezzo-Soprano Voices
According to Wikipedia " Mezzo-Soprano is a type of classical female singing voice whose vocal range lies between the Soprano and the Contralto voice types." Usually, Mezzo-soprano areas are written for within the A below middle C to G two octaves above. Actually, It depends not only on the range but also on the placement of the voice. In the operas, the mezzo-soprano gets to crossdress and play young men characters. Mezzo-soprano also has several categories. There are Lyric, Dramatic and Coloratura Mezzo.
Lyric
The Lyric Mezzo-sopranos have quite a steely and sensitive sound. Ideally, most of the Lyric mezzo-sopranos act trouser roles. It means the female actor who dresses as a male.
Dramatic
The Dramatic Mezzo-sopranos have a warm and powerful voice than the Lyric and Coloratura mezzo-sopranos.
Coloratura
It has a really flexible and warm colour. The roles they sing typically lower register.
